To live the Gospel message by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice and joy.
The Mission of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul implies that as Vincentians we:
Poverty is prevalent in Oakville but not always visible. 1 in 10 children in Halton are living in poverty. Within the parish boundaries SSVP serves over 110 families who come to us for help. Our members who volunteer their time, visit the families, listen to them, build trust with them and after responding to the immediate needs of food insecurity connect them to programs, opportunities and resources that can help them to achieve their goals. We will walk alongside families to help them to a better life. After food assistance and providing a fresh food box each month, we focus on the areas of health, education and well-being. This can include purchase of refurbished laptops, help accessing the government grants for education such as the Canada Learning Bond, urgent dental care and activities for children such as sports camps and programs. Additionally, we support the families at Christmas time and Back to School time with a parish supported drive.
IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE:
Please call 289-300-1023 and a member of SSVP will contact you.
Our capacity to assist the families is dependent on funds that we receive from the congregation and our friends, families and other supporters who generously make SSVP a focus of their charitable giving. As well as our monthly poor box collection after the masses, we try to make giving easy for our donors and have links to online donation opportunities. For one off giving and for monthly commitments.

The Young Vincentians group is modeled after the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul's spirituality and focus of helping the neighbours in need. The mission of the Society is to live the gospel message by serving Christ in our neighbours-in-need with love, justice, respect, hope, and joy. There are 3 pillars to the ministry - faith, service, and friendship.
The monthly meeting will resume on Sunday September 22nd, 2024, right after the 11:00 am mass, in the nativity room. Youth in grades 7 to 12 are welcome to join.
The group help with activities and projects such as community barbeques, community meals, back to school and Christmas program.
Volunteer hours will be provided.
