St. Vincent de Paul
Our aim is to bring the healing mind, compassion and understanding, acceptance, encouragement and availability. St. Vincent de Paul help the poor through visitation, food vouchers, food box program, clothing vouchers, furniture and our Christmas program. Our founding father F. Ozanam said, “Let us be patient, and wait for their questions and openins that will come if they find we are good and will listen to them.” If you would like to volunteer with St. Vincent de Paul, contact the parish office. A police reference check is required to participate in this Ministry.
The St. Vincent de Paul Society now has new gold colored envelopes available on the table in the narthex. If you would like a tax receipt for your monthly contributions to our poor box, please feel free to use these envelopes.
If you require food assistance, please contact the parish office at 905-337-2184 and a St. Vincent De Paul representative will contact you.
FURNITURE DONATIONS: The St. Vincent de Paul Society at Mary Mother of God Parish does not accept furniture donations. Please contact St. Michael’s Parish in Oakville at 905-844-7971 as they have a storage facility and may be interested in your furniture donation. St. Michael’s parish also supports Dr. Simone’s Food for Children organization and can acept small appliances, dishes, books, clothing, toys etc. Please contact the parish for further information.
USED CLOTHING: Please do not drop off clothing items at Mary Mother of God Parish. We do not have the storage for these items. Used clothing drives are held twice a year, once in the Fall and again in the Spring. Watch for notices regarding our upcoming Fall Clothing Drive.
SPRING CLOTHING DRIVE – ST. VINCENT DE PAUL: “Start your spring cleaning now” St. Vincent de Paul Society will be holding a spring clothing drive the weekend of April 27th/28th at the parish. Clean clothing/accessories can be dropped off before or after masses. PLEASE SORT CLOTHING IN BAGS AND TAG ACCORDING TO GENDER AND SIZES (i.e. Ladies Sm, M, Lg, Boys 6-10, Girls teen etc.) We are in need of Ladies XL, XXL!! If donating school uniforms, please identify separately.
